Hi folx, I'm Fox Woods; a queer Tarot reader living in the Los Angeles area (Tongva Land).
I’ve been studying Tarot since 2020, after being introduced on my 39th birthday by reader Erisa Byrd. I knew instinctually the path of Tarot was for me, and I've loved watching my practice braid together the many spiritual & creative paths I've had the pleasure of traveling: musician, artist, writer, & therapy nerd.
My practice is trauma-informed and marries the world of traditional Tarot with the ideas of various therapeutic modalities. Lenses include IFS, AEDP, Expressive Arts & Witchcraft and my practice is in a constant evolution.
Curiosity, honesty, gentleness & care are at the foundation of my practice.
The Empress
I access Tarot through The Empress: a goddess-like ruler from the Major Arcana who bears the message of self-awareness, abundance, and pleasure through the divine feminine. She asks us to play, accept gifts, & spend time in the beauty of nature and the physical world of the senses.
Each reading I begin with an offering of abundance: fresh-cut flowers and fruit, sweet smelling incense and candles, substantial pieces of crystal placed around with joyful aplomb. Honeyed-teas, bells, sweets and everything extra surround my Tarot altar.
The Empress loves to be celebrated, and what she receives, she gives back threefold.
